Vintage Jewellery, Between Art and Design

Antichità Sturni was founded in Rome in 1925 as an antique gallery, at Via Campo Marzio 81.

Now in its third generation, the family business is run by Paolo Sturni with the collaboration of his daughter Diletta and Mauro Myrland who propose precious vintage items made by the greatest Maison in a completely renovated exhibition space at Largo Fontanella Borghese 78: artists’ jewelry from the 1900s in addition to a line designed and produced by Diletta.

The gallery’s new line of business stems from the owner’s great passion for modern and contemporary art, a passion that accompanies the desire to thoroughly study the identity profile of this art and to make its multiple expressions known to a wider audience:

from the aniconic dimension, abstraction in all its varieties and nuances, to the most figurative expressive forms up to photography.

Paolo Sturni therefore intends to particularly enhance, within his activity, the meaning of the relationship between contemporary art understood as linguistic research and experimentation, also in relation to the “objects” – ornamental or functional – that populate everyday life, often shrouded in an intense symbolic aura, and the language of what can now be called pictorial or sculptural “tradition”, albeit a “tradition of the new”.

In other words: to put in stimulating and vital relationship the history of the 20th century, as a set of ideas and creative acts sedimented over time, and the present of art, its most immediate actuality, its various ways of being “current”.
